Who sells on Not On The High Street
NOTHS hand-selects every brand it lists and only accepts businesses registered and trading in the UK. Its partners are small makers and designers selling across gifts, homeware, fashion, food and experiences, and its shoppers are usually buying for someone else: birthdays, weddings, new babies, anniversaries and, above all, Christmas.
NOTHS is clear that it does not hold stock. Everything on the site is sold and sent directly by the partner, and a customer who buys from three brands in one checkout gets three separate parcels. So the parcel is the brand's own moment with the customer, and for many partners the gifting peak is exactly when a spare room or a small studio stops coping.
What NOTHS expects once an order lands
The NOTHS seller terms set out a clear sequence. You accept or reject each order in the partner system within the window NOTHS allows, giving an estimated dispatch date. You then dispatch so the order reaches the customer within the timeline advertised on the product page, and you update the customer when the order is received and again when it is dispatched, with an expected delivery date. Missing the promised date on a birthday present costs more goodwill than almost anywhere else.
The terms also ask partners to include NOTHS's co-branded dispatch letter with every order. Presentation matters just as much: the recipient often opens the box, not the buyer. We pack to your spec with custom packaging and inserts, so the NOTHS paperwork and your own brand card go into every parcel the same way.
Personalisation is a big part of NOTHS. Made-to-order pieces, engraved or printed to a customer's wording, usually stay in the maker's workshop. The lines that are ready to ship, such as best-sellers, gift sets and seasonal stock, are the ones that move to Smart, so you keep making while we keep dispatching.
How NOTHS orders move between the marketplace and Smart
With the connection in place, NOTHS orders for stock we hold flow into our system automatically. Each one is picked, packed with its inserts and dispatched with the carrier that suits the parcel, from Royal Mail for small gifts to DPD for heavier homeware, and it goes out tracked with proof of delivery.
Dispatch status and tracking sync back to NOTHS, so the customer's dispatch update carries real information rather than a guess. Stock levels sync back too, so if a gift set sells out through your own website, NOTHS stops selling units that no longer exist. Orders placed before 9pm are dispatched the same day (cut-offs vary by carrier, service and daily order profile).
Running NOTHS alongside your own shop and Etsy
Most NOTHS partners also sell through their own website and often Etsy. One stock pool covers all of them, gift sets and bundles can be kitted ahead of peak, and returns are inspected, graded and restocked with reason codes. Your named contact is Andy Paine, and last year the team processed 1.1m orders, so a busy December is familiar ground.
