EKM is aimed squarely at UK small and growing businesses. Its plans bundle a no-code website builder, hosting, templates, stock and order management, marketing tools and UK-based support, so owners can run the shop without hiring developers. It also serves manufacturers and wholesalers who want to take trade orders online.
Many EKM merchants sell beyond their own shop, too. EKM connects to eBay, Amazon and Etsy so orders and stock across those channels can be managed in one place. That is convenient until the number of parcels outgrows the person packing them, which is usually the point at which they call us.
What an EKM seller needs from a fulfilment partner
EKM adjusts stock levels automatically as orders come in and can email you when it is time to reorder. That only works if the quantity in EKM matches what is actually on the shelf. Once stock lives in a warehouse, the warehouse count has to be the one EKM trusts, including after goods-in and after returns.
EKM sellers also tend to be doing everything themselves: listing, customer service, marketing and packing. Moving the physical work to Smart removes the most time-hungry part of that list. Orders are picked at 99.9% pick and pack accuracy, packed in your packaging with any inserts, and sent with DPD, Evri, Royal Mail or another carrier chosen per order, tracked with proof of delivery. Orders placed before 9pm can be dispatched the same day; cut-offs vary by carrier, service and daily order profile.
How orders and stock travel between EKM and Smart
When a customer checks out on your EKM shop, the order flows into Smart automatically and joins the pick queue. On dispatch we send the tracking number and updated order status back, so the order in your EKM dashboard is up to date and your customer hears it is on its way.
Deliveries from your suppliers are checked in against your purchase order, and the stock levels we hold sync back to EKM, keeping its automatic stock adjustment and low-stock alerts meaningful. Because Smart keeps one stock pool, the units behind your EKM shop can also cover the eBay, Amazon and Etsy orders you sell alongside it.
