Design-first brands selling on Squarespace
Squarespace is known for its templates, and the people who sell on it tend to treat the look of the brand as the product: independent homeware and stationery labels, photographers and illustrators selling prints, musicians selling merchandise, coffee roasters and small beauty brands. Squarespace Commerce lets them add products, subscriptions and digital goods to a site they already love.
Commerce is often a second line for these businesses, run by one or two people. The shop works, the orders come in, and then the kitchen table fills with boxes.
What a Squarespace brand needs to protect when it outsources
The unboxing has to match the website. Custom mailers, printed inserts, careful packing of fragile prints or ceramics and a consistent finish on every order are what Squarespace customers are paying for. We pack to a written spec, with quality checks before dispatch and 99.9% pick and pack accuracy.
Physical subscriptions need a steady rhythm. Squarespace notes that fulfilling a subscription order does not affect the customer's payment schedule, so each renewal simply arrives as a new order to ship. Where a subscription is a curated box, we can assemble it ahead of time so renewals ship smoothly.
Speed matters too, even for small brands. Orders placed before 9pm go out the same day (cut-offs vary by carrier, service and daily order profile), tracked, with proof of delivery.
From Pending to Fulfilled: Squarespace orders through Smart
New Squarespace orders sit in the Orders panel as Pending until someone marks them Fulfilled. With Smart connected, those Pending orders come to our warehouse automatically instead of waiting for you to print them.
When we ship, the tracking number goes back to the order and it moves to Fulfilled. Squarespace can then email the customer that the order is on its way with the tracking included, and you can follow the parcel from the order in your dashboard. If an order ships in more than one parcel, it can carry more than one tracking number.
Stock follows the shelves. As we check in deliveries against your purchase orders and ship orders out, the quantities on your Squarespace products update, so a limited run sells out on the site at the point it sells out in the warehouse.
