Who sells through Wix Stores
Wix is a website builder first. Most merchants on it are small businesses, makers and service companies whose website came before their shop: a salon selling its own haircare, a studio selling prints, a clinic selling supplements, a charity selling merchandise. Wix Stores sits inside that site, sharing the design, the blog and the bookings.
That makes the shop an important part of the business rather than the whole of it. The owner usually has other work to do, and hours spent printing labels and queuing at the post office come straight out of it.
What Wix sellers need when they hand over fulfilment
Wix gives store owners a few ways to fulfil: ship it yourself, use a fulfilment app, or set a custom fulfiller that is sent each order by email. The email route works for a trickle of orders but leaves you copying tracking numbers back into the dashboard by hand, because Wix does not add them automatically for that kind of fulfiller.
Small brands also tend to care about presentation more than volume. Tissue, a thank-you insert or a sample alongside the order is part of the charm, and it needs to survive the move to a warehouse. We pack to your spec with 99.9% pick and pack accuracy, and orders in before 9pm leave the same day (cut-offs vary by carrier, service and daily order profile).
And because order volume on a small store is lumpy, storage needs to flex. A few bins of stock most of the year and a pallet or two before Christmas is a normal profile for us.
How Wix Stores orders move through Smart
Wix tracks each order as unfulfilled or fulfilled in the Orders tab. With Smart connected, new unfulfilled orders come to us automatically, so there is no email to forward and nothing to re-type.
Once the parcel is packed and collected, the tracking number and carrier go back to the order, it switches to fulfilled, and your customer can see the tracking in their shipping confirmation and on their My Orders page. Where items ship separately, each shipment can carry its own tracking number.
Stock flows back as well, so the quantities on your Wix product pages follow what is actually in our warehouse. You can also see stock and orders live in our client portal, and you have a named contact, Andy Paine, when something needs a person.
