Selling as a concession brand on Debenhams
The Debenhams name still carries weight with shoppers who grew up with the department store, but the business behind debenhams.com is now a curated marketplace. Brands apply, are reviewed, and once accepted list their ranges alongside the big names in fashion, beauty and homeware. Debenhams' own terms describe third-party sellers as Concessionaire Brands, with DBZ Marketplace Online Limited acting as the brand's disclosed agent rather than the seller.
In practice that means the contract of sale sits between the shopper and your business. Debenhams brings the traffic, the checkout and the customer service front door; you own the stock, the dispatch and the promise made in the dispatch confirmation. For a brand used to wholesaling into department stores, it is a very different shape of business: single units to individual homes instead of cartons to a stockroom.
What a Debenhams order asks of your warehouse
Shoppers buying through Debenhams expect department-store standards even though the parcel comes from you. The order confirmation tells them whether an item was supplied by Debenhams or by a concession brand, and that matters because returns follow the seller. Your parcel needs to arrive in good shape, match what was ordered, and give the customer a clear way to send it back.
Debenhams' terms state that concession brand orders can only be delivered within UK mainland and Northern Ireland, with postcode restrictions. That suits a UK operation well. Dispatch and tracking expectations are set in your seller agreement, so we work to the handling time you commit to and upload tracking against every order rather than leaving the shopper guessing.
Fashion is the busiest category on the site, which brings size-driven returns. Each one comes back to us, is checked against the original order, graded, and either restocked or quarantined with a reason code, so you can see whether a particular fit is causing trouble.
From Debenhams order to dispatched parcel
When a shopper buys one of your products, the order arrives in our system automatically and joins the same stock pool that serves your own site and any other channels. We pick it, pack it in your packaging, and send it with the carrier chosen for that order, DPD, Evri or Royal Mail among them. Same-day dispatch applies to orders placed before 9pm; cut-offs vary by carrier, service and daily order profile.
Once the parcel is handed over, tracking and order status flow back so the order is marked as shipped on Debenhams and the customer can follow it. Stock levels sync back too, which keeps your Debenhams listings from selling units that have already gone out through another channel. You can see every order and stock movement live in the client portal, and questions go to your named contact, Andy Paine, rather than a queue.
