Who buys on ManoMano: homeowners and the trade
ManoMano calls itself the leading marketplace for DIY and gardening, and its catalogue stays inside that world: power tools, hand tools, hardware, plumbing, electrical, lighting, garden machinery and the spare parts that go with them. It is a pure marketplace, so every product on manomano.co.uk belongs to an independent seller, and the UK site runs alongside ManoMano's sites in other countries.
The professional buyer is what sets it apart. ManoMano runs ManoManoPro, a separate site for tradespeople, and says professional sales account for a large share of its business. In practice your order queue mixes a homeowner buying a single tap connector with a plumber ordering several boxes of compression fittings, and both expect the exact part they clicked on.
What ManoMano orders ask of the warehouse
On ManoMano the seller writes the delivery terms. Its help centre explains that delivery methods, costs and the expected delivery time are set by each seller and shown on the product page under Delivery methods available, and that a basket from several sellers may arrive with different couriers. The delivery time you publish is the promise a buyer reads before paying, so the dispatch window behind it has to hold on every order.
The products make accuracy harder than it looks. Fixings, fittings and blades that differ by a few millimetres sit next to each other and are easy to swap, and a tradesperson who receives the wrong size has lost part of a working day. Our pick and pack accuracy runs at 99.9%, and goods-in is checked against your purchase orders so the right SKU is on the right shelf from the start. Long or heavy items, such as garden tools and boxed machinery, get packaging that suits their shape and a carrier service that suits their weight.
ManoMano also runs its own fulfilment service, ManoExpress. Sellers who keep delivery in their own hands, or who want a single UK stock pool covering ManoMano, their own website and other marketplaces, can route those orders through Smart instead.
How ManoMano orders reach Smart and what goes back
Once your ManoMano shop is connected, new orders flow into our system automatically, with no order files to download and no addresses to retype. Each order is picked from the same stock that serves your other channels, packed for the product and handed to the carrier picked for that parcel, whether DPD, Evri, Royal Mail or another service.
As the parcel leaves, its tracking number and the updated order status go back to ManoMano, so the buyer can follow it and you have a record if a delivery is queried. Stock levels sync back as well, which stops a busy week on your own site leaving ManoMano showing fittings you no longer hold. Orders placed before 9pm are dispatched the same day (cut-offs vary by carrier, service and daily order profile), and you can watch stock and orders live in the client portal.
One stock pool across the home improvement marketplaces
Most DIY sellers list the same range on more than one home improvement channel. Keeping it in one place means pallet storage for bulk lines, bin locations for small parts, and returns that are inspected, graded and restocked with a reason code, so you learn whether a part came back faulty or simply wrong for the job. You deal with a named contact, Andy Paine, rather than a ticket queue.
