The Range Marketplace fulfilment UK

The Range Marketplace lets third-party businesses list home, garden and leisure products next to The Range's own stock on therange.co.uk. Marketplace Partners sell and dispatch their own items, so every order needs a warehouse behind it. Smart can be that warehouse.

Who sells on The Range Marketplace

The Range is a British home, garden and leisure retailer, and its marketplace now brings in a large share of its online sales. Sellers can list across a wide spread of categories, from furniture, storage, lighting and home furnishings to garden, patio, pets, DIY, arts and crafts, toys and small appliances. The Range says the marketplace suits businesses of any size, including multi-channel sellers and wholesalers looking for another route to market.

Entry has conditions. Sellers must be company registered and meet VAT requirements, and The Range reviews each product for suitability and expects it to be UK compliant with the right test certification. On the site, partner products carry a Marketplace Partner icon, and the customer's contract of sale is with the partner, not The Range.

What The Range asks of a Marketplace Partner

The Range's seller page is direct about the split. It collates orders and sends them to your dedicated dashboard, and you organise shipping and delivery to the customer. Payment for an order is released once the item has been dispatched, tracked and confirmed, so a tracking number is not a nice-to-have here: it is part of how you get paid.

The catalogue shapes the work. A home and garden range means bulky and awkward items sit alongside small ones: flat-pack furniture, planters, rugs and garden furniture next to candles and craft supplies. Big boxes need storage that suits them, packing that survives the journey and a carrier service chosen for the size and weight, while small items need to be picked accurately and packed without wasted space. Dispatch standards themselves are set in The Range's partner terms, and we work to the handling time you commit to.

How Range orders move between the marketplace and Smart

The Range runs its marketplace on Mirakl and supports API integration for partners. With your shop connected to Smart, Range orders flow into our system automatically instead of being worked one by one from the dashboard. Each is picked from your shared stock pool and dispatched with the carrier that suits it, whether DPD, Evri, Royal Mail or another service.

Tracking and order status sync back to The Range on dispatch, which is the step that moves the order towards dispatched, tracked and confirmed. Stock levels sync back too, so a best-seller that runs low on your own site stops selling on therange.co.uk at the same time. Orders placed before 9pm are dispatched the same day (cut-offs vary by carrier, service and daily order profile).

Range stock that also serves your other channels

Pallet, carton and bin storage at our Scunthorpe site means bulky lines and small ones live under one roof, and goods-in is checked against your purchase orders. Returns are graded and restocked with reason codes, and your named contact, Andy Paine, knows the account.

FAQ

The Range: common questions

Do Range Marketplace Partners have to organise their own delivery?

Yes. The Range sends orders to your dashboard and you organise shipping and delivery. With Smart, that happens from our warehouse, and tracking goes back to The Range for you.

Why does tracking matter so much on The Range?

The Range releases payment once an item has been dispatched, tracked and confirmed. Every Smart parcel ships tracked with proof of delivery, and the tracking is synced back on dispatch.

Can you store bulky home and garden products?

Yes. We offer pallet, carton and bin storage, so large boxed items and small accessories can sit side by side, and we choose the carrier service per order to suit its size and weight.

I already use Linnworks with The Range. Can I keep it?

The Range supports third-party integrators including Linnworks, and we connect with Linnworks too, so your existing setup can stay in place with Smart doing the physical fulfilment.

How are Range returns handled?

Returned items come back to us, are checked against the original order, graded, then restocked or quarantined with a reason code you can see.

Ready to see what it would take?

Tell us about your volume, storage and channels and we'll come back with a proposal built around it, not a generic rate card.
